Make sure the on-line agent is a member of ARLA, NALs or RICS – if they aren’t they can run off with your money! For example, ARLA, NALs and RICs agents can advertise your property on portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla. | ||
Check they have a landline and a team you can talk to if you have any problems. | ||
Compare the costs of advertising your property on their site – is it nothing? | ||
A one off fee? A fee for a fixed period of time such as three months. | ||
Check they advertise your property legally, including the rent and any other charges a tenant will need to pay (for example credit checks). | ||
Does the site offer properties nationally or just in one location? | ||
Will they provide a lettings board? | ||
How many tenants visit the site daily? | ||
How do they market the site to tenants? On-line only or via newspapers or property portals. | ||
Find out how many clicks or how long it takes to advertise a property prior to it being let. | ||
