Check you or someone you know is over 21 to be eligible to drive. | |

Work out what size van you need eg small or large van, Luton or larger. | |

Decide how long you need the van for and double it! Eg make sure you leave enough time for several trips. | |

Check if you can hire by the hour or if you are charged a full day rate. | |

Find out the opening and closing times to return the van so you don’t end up having to pay an extra day. | |

Check what all the costs are including the deposit you have to pay. | |

Double check the insurance eg are you insured on your own insurance or do you need additional cover – if so at what cost? | |

Remember to take your insurance, driving licence and a recent utility bill with your current address on it which matches other proof of identity. | |

Make sure you return the van with a full tank of fuel (unless you have another deal). | |
